Week ( 4 ) Computer Networks

How are you all ? I hope you guys will be fine . Now,  I would like to share about the network that I have learnt in the week four. Actually, it was really interested topic to learn. Nowadays , most of people use Internet , but they don't know how it is work . So , I am here to share about this topic for you guys.Actually , computer networks simply a groups of interconnected computers. The computers of a network may be located nearby to each other    or at     different geographic locations. The Internet is a good example of computer network. Computer network normally has communication medium  which is essential for a computer communication to take place. Actually, there are various types of digital mediun around us.

Every computer network functions when having these three concepts:

1.Topology– the physical layout of the network

2.Protocol– the rules in data communication

3.Architecture– how the hardware and software are integrated to form a working. 

 

   

Besides  knowing the network medium , there are also other ways to classify computer networks. There are three types of networks which are LAN ( local area network ) , MAN ( metropolitan area network) , and WAN ( wide area network ).

 LAN  network is used in small geographical area such as room, building or campus . Usually , it connects  by using Ethernet . There are two types of LAN which are Intranet and Extranet .

MAN is also another type of network . It is normally used in a city .

 

The most popular one is WAN which is Internet . The network spread out geographically across globe .

 

                        

 

Moreover , they can also be categorized based on their  characteristics . They are Peer - to - Peer  Networking and Sever - Based Networking . The peer -to - peer networking  is no centralized to control over shared resources. It allows to share resources . No computer has higher access priority.

   

                             

Server - Based networking may do centralized verification of user accounts and passwords. They may handle many users around the world .
